For forty-three years of his adult life, Edgar Cayce demonstrated the uncanny ability to put himself into some kind of self-induced sleep state by lying down on a couch, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach. This state of relaxation and meditation enabled him to place his mind in contact with all time and space.
From this state he could respond to questions as diverse as, “What are the secrets of the universe?” His responses to these questions came to be called “readings” and contain insights so valuable that even to this day individuals have found practical help for everything from maintaining a well-balanced diet and improving human relationships to overcoming life-threatening illnesses and experiencing a closer walk with God.
Edgar Cayce gave over two thousand readings teaching spiritual seekers to live, think, speak, and abide in love. Here are his comments to four different people: “Let the beauty of your joy, in manifesting the light and love as shown in the Christ-Spirit, that makes for the new song in your heart, keep you in your daily walks of life.”
Prayer is so effective that Cayce often said, “Why worry when you can pray?” Worry will accomplish nothing. Prayer, as even science is finding out, works. It influences situations, people, and outcomes.
Prayer is very important in my daily life. Before readings, meditation and all other psychic work and every night before bed I say the Our Father.
The Our Father is a very effective to align your Chakras. According to Cayce the energy in the Our Father is very powerful.
It will assist you to align the different energy centers in our bodies known as Chakras. They all vibrate at different frequencies each holding a gift of specific power.
Tuning into this power can help us deal with life’s challenges of that specific energy center.
When entering into solemn pray, do so with all your being and know that your prayers are heard. Do this with all the strength in your physical body, your mind and soul, for this is the supplication of your heart. Have reverence, and unwavering faith in the promises that God has given us through his prophets and saints. Be still and sacred in this holy chamber where the essence of God resides within you. For it is through prayer and mediation that we achieve a higher state of consciousness. These are the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
